Marco Rose Looking For First Win
After leading in our last two games and dropping points by conceding in the 91st minute in both those games, the Cherries will be looking to do better in their next game. Against Manchester City, AFCB were leading until the 84th minute, when they conceded two late goals. The same against Everton, conceding late again.
The Cherries are on their longest trip for a Premier League game this season when they travel up to the North East to play at St James’ Park, the home of Newcastle United. This game is an early start at 12.30 pm, which is not the best of news for our fans. It is also live on TNT Sports.

Our next opponents, Newcastle United have seen a change in manager and coaching staff with the departure of Eddie Howe and his ex AFCB staff who joined him. In his place is the German Matthias Jaissle, who previously was manager of Saudi side Al-Hahli. Prior to that, he was at RB Salzburg.
So we will have two Germans in opposite dugouts for this game. Our club has not lost at St James’ Park since the 2019-20 season when Eddie Howe was our manager. The Magpies started the season with a home 2-2 draw against Liverpool and in their first away game came away with all 3 points after beating Spurs 0-2.
The last time we visited St James’ Park was in April, and the Cherries came away with all 3 points for the second season running. Marcus Tavernier scored the only goal of the first half. William Osula equalised for the home side, and with 5 minutes of normal time to play, Adrien Truffert scored the winning goal.
In all our away league games against Newcastle United, AFCB have W 4, D 2, L 3.

Dan Burn, William Osula, Joe Linton and Valentino Livramento have all been out injured. They have made 9 signings, with the biggest fees £51million for Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille and £50 million for Nico Gonzalez from Manchester City.

Alan Elanga has had a good start to the season for United, scoring in his first two league games. Another player who has looked good is Yoane Wissa with a goal and assist.

Except for the ones we know about, there has been no news on any new injuries from the Everton game.

Alex Scott looked really good against Everton and dominated our midfield. Evanilson does a lot of unnoticed work at times, without scoring as a striker. He has assisted our last two goals with good moves and passes.
The Referee
Rob Jones is in charge of this game. He took two of our home games in the league last season: the 0-0 draw against Newcastle United and the 3-0 home win against Crystal Palace.

Howe definitely struggled against his old team.
Speaking of Howe, it’s a real shame he left when he did. I don’t think I’m alone (amongst Newcastle fans) in thinking he should have had a proper send-off at the end of the season. I hope that when he’s ready, he comes back for a game so we can say thank you properly. Goes down as the 2nd best manager of my life. Saved us from the drop, some unbelievable games in the Premier League, propelled us to the Champions League twice with some amazing nights under the lights. And of course, the first Newcastle manager to bring domestic Silverware to the club to the club in 70 years!
That he’s gone without us singing his name or anything… it just feels wrong.

The same at Dean Court when he left during the Summer break, the next time we saw him was when he brought your side to Dean Court and he got a good reception after he went around applauding the home fans.
As with you, he left us after 5 seasons in the Premier League and probably, with the pressures of football, needed another break, especially up in your area after he was in hospital with pneumonia, which must have taken a lot out of him.
