Liverpool have reportedly agreed a new contract with Rio Ngumoha after claims in the summer that Bayern Munich were trying to sign the teenager.
Ngumoha officially turned 18 last week, meaning he is now eligible to sign a professional contract, which is why the likes of Bayern were sniffing around this summer. It was their last chance to move in on the Liverpool forward, but the Reds are not letting him go.
According to a report from TEAMtalk journalist Graeme Bailey, Liverpool have reached an agreement over a new contract and an announcement is coming soon.

Bailey reports: “Liverpool have agreed a new contract in principle with Rio Ngumoha, with the club are now rapidly accelerating towards an announcement that the highly-rated winger is putting pen to paper on fresh terms at Anfield.
“We understand the deal has been agreed in principle and discussions are now moving towards the player formally signing the contract, with Liverpool hopeful of announcing the agreement in the coming weeks. Sources insist only finer details now need to be ironed out.
“Ngumoha has continued to attract significant attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs since making the move to Liverpool from Chelsea in 2024.
“Bayern Munich were linked with the winger earlier this summer, while TEAMtalk can confirm that both Real Madrid and Barcelona are huge admirers of the teenager.”
Liverpool have a real gem on their hands
While the £123m deal to sign Bradley Barcola will certainly make it harder for Ngumoha to break his way into the Liverpool starting lineup, there is still a feeling that the 18-year-old is going to make a meaningful contribution to the Reds’ campaign.
Cody Gakpo and Victor Munoz will compete for game time on the right wing, but Ngumoha will play as an understudy to Barcola, who can teach the teenager a lot of things.
Barcola has won the Champions League twice and knows what it’s like to have a world-class forward ahead of you in the pecking order after Kvicha Kvaratskhelia blocked his pathway at PSG which led to his Liverpool move.
Ngumoha will need to take his chances this season as Barcola is not likely to be displaced by anything short of a truly sensational showing from the young winger.
