Chelsea had a very interesting deadline day, with Enzo Fernandez and Lamine Camara at the centre of it.
Chelsea sold Fernandez to Manchester City for a whopping £125m, equalling the British record transfer fee.
As for Camara, Chelsea were on the verge of signing him until AS Monaco performed one of the biggest U-turns ever seen on deadline day and decided to cancel the deal.

Ian Wright hails Chelsea’s sale of Enzo Fernandez as ‘unbelievable’
With Camara’s transfer falling through, Chelsea were unable to replace Fernandez, who is widely considered one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, Ian Wright still thinks it was amazing business to get £125m for the 25-year-old.
Speaking on Stick to Football, the Arsenal legend said: “Can I say from Chelsea’s point, it’s amazing business they’ve done there. What I’m saying is to get the money what they’ve got from him, when we’re talking about 100 and odd million, he’s gone to Manchester City.
“We’re not talking about Declan numbers in the way he’s played. For them to get their money back and him go to City, it’s great business from their point of view, but I think that that’s unbelievable.”

Chelsea have made a profit after signing Fernandez for £107m in 2023, so financially his move to City was a good deal for the club.
However, there is no denying that Xabi Alonso’s side have got much weaker in midfield. With Moises Caicedo carrying a small injury, they are already having issues in that area of the pitch.
Hopefully the Ecuadorian is fit enough to start against Arsenal on Sunday; otherwise, Chelsea could find themselves in a bit of trouble at the Emirates.

When will Enzo Fernandez face Chelsea?
It is going to be very interesting to see what kind of reception Fernandez gets from the Chelsea fans this season.
He does not have to go to Stamford Bridge until next April, but Chelsea travel to the Etihad on 12 December.
Fernandez can be considered a successful signing for the Blues. He helped the club to win the Club World Cup and Conference League and scored some big goals.
However, given how things ended, with the Argentina international effectively refusing to play in Chelsea’s last two games, it would not shock anyone if fans decided to boo him at the Etihad and then at the Bridge when he makes his return next year.
