Ndiaye and Allan became two more members of Enzo Maresca's drastically reshaped and transformed Manchester City side, joining just hours before the conclusion of the 2026 summer transfer window.
Having first shown an interest in Liverpool and Netherlands international Cody Gakpo, Manchester City soon pivoted their attentions towards the blue side of Merseyside to hijack a progressing move for Ndiaye to Tottenham.
Giving City the green light over a move to the Etihad Stadium, a transfer understood to be worth £60 million plus a further £5 million in add-ons was completed by Hugo Viana and his colleagues in swift fashion.
Negotiations for Allan of Palmeiras were far more straightforward, with the 22-year-old viewed as a direct replacement for Savinho, who joined Tottenham for a package worth £85 million, joining Maresca's side in a deal believed to be worth an initial €37.5 million plus a further €2.5 million in add-ons.

Ndiaye and Allan's shirt numbers revealed
Now, following their arrivals at the Etihad Stadium from Everton and Palmeiras respectively, Manchester City have confirmed the brand new shirt numbers of both Iliman Ndiaye and Allan.
Starting with the Senegalese international forward, the former Marseille and Sheffield United man has become City's newest holder of the number 7 shirt following Omar Marmoush's move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Egyptian striker has joined the North London club on a season-long loan, with an option for those at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to sign Marmoush on a permanent deal next summer for a total package worth £60 million.
Other previous holders of Manchester City's iconic number 7 shirt in recent seasons include the likes of Joao Cancelo, Raheem Sterling, James Milner, Stephen Ireland, and Robbie Fowler.
As for Allan, the Brazilian winger has been handed the club's number 37 shirt, becoming the first to represent that squad number since fellow countryman Kayky - now on-loan at Internacional from City Football Group side Bahia.
Prior to Allan and Kayky, other holders of the number 37 include former Manchester City goalkeepers Gunnar Nielsen and Shay Given, as well as Kelvin Etuhu and the legendary Paul Dickov.

What about City's other new signings?
As for other changes to the Manchester City squad this summer and their selected shirt numbers ready for the 2026/27 season, new back-up goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli opted to select the 28 shirt within the squad.
In midfield, England international Elliot Anderson took on the number vacated by John Stones upon the expiry of his contract and subsequent switch to Inter in Serie A, taking the number 5 shirt in the team.
As for Ayyoub Bouaddi following his €100 million switch from French side Lille, the Moroccan 18-year-old selected the number 32 shirt at the Etihad Stadium - following on from Maximo Perrone most recent, but most notably Carlos Tevez.
The biggest shirt number selection undoubtedly comes from Enzo Fernandez, however, with the club's new club-record signing worth £125 million opting for the number 17 shirt - vacated by the legendary Kevin De Bruyne following his exit in 2025.
Academy talents Kaden Braithwaite, Floyd Samba, and Ryan McAidoo have been handed the numbers 61, 75, and 56 respectively following their promotion into the first-team set-up by Enzo Maresca.
