**With the transfer window having slammed shut on Tuesday evening, Premier League clubs must now wait until it reopens in January to make any more signings.**
All 20 top flight English sides were active in the market this summer, with the league once again smashing the record for the highest expenditure by splashing out more than £3.4 billion.
More than £500 million was spent by Premier League clubs on deadline day this year, dwarfing the £391 million spent on the same day 12 months ago.
Here, we take a look at the five biggest Premier League signings during the recent summer transfer window.
5\. Sandro Tonali – Newcastle United to Tottenham Hotspur (£92.75m)

After finishing second in the Premier League in each of the past two seasons, Tottenham invested heavily this summer and their biggest signing of the window was midfielder Sandro Tonali. The Italy international cost an initial £92.75 million which could rise to £100 million, but was substituted off against former club Newcastle in just his second appearance for Spurs.
4\. Bradley Barcola – Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool (£106m)

Liverpool were always likely to make a big signing to replace Mohamed Salah, who departed Anfield at the end of last term, and the Reds did so when landing winger Bradley Barcola from Champions League holders PSG. The Reds twice broke the British transfer record last summer, but will be hoping that Barcola enjoys a better debut season than both Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak. The deal could eventually be worth as much as £123 million if certain add-ons are triggered.
3\. Elliot Anderson – Nottingham Forest to Manchester City (£116m)

Elliot Anderson had been tipped for a big move long before starring as one of England’s standout performers at the World Cup this summer, and he was rewarded with a move to Manchester City shortly after the end of the tournament. The midfielder joined Forest from Newcastle in 2024 and has since enjoyed a meteoric rise. He will now be part of a new-look Man City midfield.

2\. Morgan Rogers – Aston Villa to Chelsea (£117m)

Morgan Rogers had been linked with a move to Premier League champions Arsenal before signing for Chelsea for a staggering £117 million. The Englishman played a bit-part role for England at the World Cup, but scored on his debut for the Blues and provided an assist in their win against Brighton and Hove Albion last time out. The attacker looks set for a big season at Stamford Bridge, alongside close friend Cole Palmer.

Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez was at the centre of the biggest transfer saga of the summer window, with Manchester City chasing the player for several weeks. The Citizens finally agreed a deal for the ex-Benfica man on deadline day, making him the joint-most expensive signing in British football history, alongside Liverpool’s Isak.
