Everton offered chance to sign free agent ex-Man Utd striker, 63 PL goals for the Red Devils

Everton have been offered the chance to sign French striker Anthony Martial, according to talkSPORT.

Everton manager David Moyes failed to bring a new striker to the Hill Dickinson Stadium club in the closing days of the summer transfer window.

The Toffees sold Beto to Fiorentina and were hoping to sign AS Monaco’s Folarin Balogun as his replacement.

However, the American opted against joining the Merseyside club after how they treated him during his medical tests.

Everton also had deals for Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee and Aston Villa’s Tammy Abraham knocked back on the transfer deadline day.

They are left with Thierno Barry as their only recognised striker but have been presented with the opportunity to sign Martial.

The 30-year-old Frenchman is a free agent having been without a club since leaving Liga MX club Monterrey in June.

An injury limited Martial to just 20 appearances for the Mexican club, but he is now fully fit and is open to a return to the Premier League.

The former Red Devils star left England after 63 goals and 33 assists in 209 league games for Man United.

He moved to Super League Greece club AEK Athens in September 2024, leaving for Mexico after just a season.

It is unknown whether Everton have plans to make any out-of-the-window signings, but Moyes could do with more attacking options ahead of the winter transfer window.

Martial could be of use for the Toffees given his experience, and taking a punt on him could make sense.
