With over a month to go before they defend their NBA title in the new NBA season, the New York Knicks are aiming to bring two key free agents on their side.
Per Ian Begley of SNY, the Knicks are targeting both John Konchar and Drew Eubanks as potential signings to continue improving their roster.
Added by Begley, several Knicks decision-makers are at least aiming to land one frontcourt player.
"Per SNY sources, guard-forward John Konchar and forward-center Drew Eubanks are among the players on New York’s radar as we draw closer to training camp," the report indicated.
Knicks targeting John Konchar, Drew Eubanks
Along with Cody Williams, John Konchar was dealt by the Utah Jazz to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Josh Green and cash considerations. However, he was released by the Wolves via a waive-and-stretch option.
Konchar played 56 games for the Memphis Grizzlies and Jazz during the 2025-26 season and averaged 4.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.9 minutes per game. He is a solid role player, rebounder, and defender in his position.
The Miami Heat have recently been linked to Konchar.
On the other hand, Drew Eubanks spent last season with the Sacramento Kings. Averaging 5.2 points and 3.0 rebounds on 59.6% shooting, he was limited to just 42 games following surgery to repair a UCL tear in his left thumb back in March.
Both Konchar and Eubanks are significant targets worth pursuing for the Knicks to improve their frontcourt depth.
