Gabriel Jesus trains with Barcelona teammates for first time

After enjoying wins against Elche, Athletic Club, and Rayo Vallecano in their first three games of the new season, FC Barcelona are now set to face Valencia away from home, and are already preparing for this upcoming game.

The team enjoyed two days off following the match against Rayo Vallecano, as they had a full week to prepare for the Valencia game. However, Hansi Flick was training the team on Thursday, and this training session was notable for several reasons.

As [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20260903/1004222894/primer-entrenamiento-gabriel-jesus-barca-regreso-gavi.html) has reported, this training session saw [the last Barcelona signing of the recently-closed summer transfer window, Gabriel Jesus](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/official-barcelona-complete-e10m-signing-of-gabriel-jesus-from-arsenal/), train at the Ciutat Esportiva for the first time. The Brazilian had already completed preseason with Manchester City, and thus was able to hit the ground running at his new club. However, he still completed only a part of training with his teammates.

Another notable aspect of this session was the presence of the midfielder Gavi, who returned to train with his teammates after spending several days, and missing the games against Athletic Club and Rayo Vallecano, on the sidelines because of a knock to his right leg during the first match of the season against Elche. He also completed only a part of training with the group, but is expected to return to the squad for the Valencia game.

Lastly, a winger from the youth academy, Iu Martinez, was called up by Hansi Flick to train with the first team, as the rest of the Barca Atletic team enjoyed a day off following their defeat to Sadabell in the Copa Catalunya final.

For now, Barcelona will still have some days to continue preparing for their next game, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, and hopefully, Gabriel Jesus and Gavi will be able to complete the rest of the training sessions with their teammates.
