As Liverpool travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich, they are aiming to avoid going on their longest winless run in the league for 23 years.
Liverpool face Ipswich away for the first time since 2024, when goals from Diogo Jota and Mo Salah got the Arne Slot era off to a winning start.
This time at Portman Road, Iraola is still looking for his first victory as Liverpool boss, after consecutive 2-2 draws against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest.
This was only the fourth time in history that the Reds have drawn their opening two league matches. Not since September 2002 have Liverpool drawn three successive league games 2-2.

(Photo by David Rawcliffe/Propaganda) The Reds have not won any of the last 6 league games, since beating Crystal Palace 3-1 at Anfield in April. Liverpool last went more than six matches without a top-flight victory between November 2002 and January 2003 – a run of 11 games. In fact, the Reds have not even held the lead in any of their last four matches, since Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in May. Liverpool took only 10 points from a possible 18 against newly-promoted teams last season, winning two (both away from home) and drawing four. They are, though, unbeaten in their last 20 league matches against newly promoted sides (15 wins, five draws), since they lost to Bournemouth in March 2023, a team then managed by current Ipswich boss Gary O’Neil. O’Neil took charge of the Tractor Boys this summer, following Kieran McKenna who led the club to two promotions in successive seasons and in three of the last campaigns. The current boss spent time as assistant manager with Liverpool U21s during 2020/21. He has faced Liverpool four times as a manager, winning once with Bournemouth before losing the last three – all with Wolves. Ipswich have conceded 17 goals in their last 345 minutes of league action against Liverpool (a goal every 20 minutes). This will be Ipswich’s 28th season in the top flight, and they have previously won the First Division title (1962), FA Cup (1978) and UEFA Cup (1981). Last season they finished runners-up in the Championship, 11 points behind Coventry. They won exactly half of their 46 league games, including 14 at home where they lost just once, to Charlton. They are unbeaten in the last 18 home league matches, 17 of those in the Championship last season.
