Liverpool has confirmed the signing of Djylian N'Guessan from Saint Etienne, with the 18-year-old set to officially join the Reds in the winter window for around $5.8M

Liverpool has confirmed its final signing of the summer transfer window, with a pre-contract agreement in place for the 18-year-old Saint Etienne forward Djylian N'Guessan to arrive in January.
It is understood that the deal is worth a guaranteed sum of €5.0 million ($5.8 million/£4.3 million) and Saint Etienne will also have a sell-on clause included in the transfer.
N'Guessan, it was confirmed yesterday, has signed for Stade Brest, the Ligue 1 side, on loan for the first half of the season. The teenager's best next step will be assessed when he officially arrives at Anfield in the middle of the campaign.
As is the case with Lucca Brughmans, who arrived earlier this week, and other recent signings including Armin Pecsi, Mor Talla N'Diaye, Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Samuel Martinez, N'Guessan is viewed as a major talent for the future.
He showed his potential alongside Brughmans at the U17 European Championship in Albania last year, where he was named in the Team of the Tournament.
Liverpool is continuing to attempt to bring in some of the best young players around, with Matt Newberry leading the global talent team in its hunt for more stars who can be developed.

In addition to targeting some major youth talents, in the summer window, Liverpool brought in four players for its senior team: Bradley Barcola, Victor Munoz, Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo.
That leaves more work to be done in future windows, with the Reds still looking light in forward areas and potentially at right-back too.
"I’m very happy with all the signings we’ve made," Andoni Iraola said on Friday. "I know the next question: ‘Do you want more signings in other positions?’
"At the end, the club has decided that those signings we have done are the ones that improved our team and our position.

"There were other options we decided not to take, for different reasons: sometimes it is sporting reasons because they don’t improve what you have, sometimes it is economical reasons as it didn’t make sense in terms of the market to do those movements.
"But I’m happy now I know what we have, I have a lot of quality in the team and now it is the moment for us, for the players, for me to develop what we have."
Liverpool takes on Ipswich in the Premier League later today, seeking to win its first match under Iraola. Barcola, who has not made a competitive appearance since the World Cup, is expected to be named on the bench.
