The Los Angeles Lakers experienced a major roster overhaul this offseason with names like LeBron James, Rui Hachimura and Marcus Smart leaving and others arriving in free agency.
One of those names that arrived this summer is Collin Sexton, who revealed in an ESPN interview, what drew him to choose the Lakers instead of other teams.
"I would say just opportunity to win, being on big stage and being in the situation where I can try to come in and impact winning," Sexton answered.
"I feel like I've been on different teams where it's just been a lot tougher. Of course, they want to win, it's always been there. But it's definitely tough to win in the NBA. It's a hard thing and each and every night we're playing against the best of the best," the guard explained.
"So I think just being on this stage and being able to impact winning each and every day, and what I bring to the team and bring to the game. I feel like I just fit right in."

Sexton also detailed his experience since signing with the team and how he has been treated.
"It's been amazing. Everyone's just pretty much open and welcoming, and it's been good to talk to the coaches, talk to the players. It's a whole bunch of new faces, so we're all learning each and every day together."
Sexton and the Lakers agreed to a two-year, $19 million deal with a player option for the second season in July.
In the 2025-26 regular season, the guard averaged 15.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while shooting 48.7% from the field and 41.0% from three-point range.
He gives the Los Angeles team another option who can score off the dribble, attack the rim, play with pace, and provide secondary creation.
Sexton was selected with the No. 8 pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers and later played for the Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets, and Chicago Bulls.
