Welcome to our live coverage of Michael Carrick's pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United's trip to Everton.
It has been another busy week at Old Trafford which started with United on a high after a 5-2 victory over Ipswich Town. However, the summer transfer window has since closed without the Reds adding a left-back to their squad. United did enquire about a move for Manchester City's Rayan Ait-Nouri and that could be discussed today.
Carrick will also provide team news for Sunday's game. Mason Mount was missing from last weekend's game, despite the midfielder being given the green light by his boss in last week's press conference.
We may also receive an update on Amad's fitness and Matthijs de Ligt's recovery from a long-term back injury.
We shall hear from the boss at around 1.30pm this afternoon. As soon as he arrives, we shall bring you everything he has to say!

Mainoo will still be eligible to play for Manchester United in the Premier League this season despite not being named in the 23-man squad list submitted this week. United were required to submit their list to the Premier League after the transfer window closed on Tuesday. A total of 23 players have been included on the list, though Mainoo and Leny Yoro are just two of the notable absentees.
The reason the pair have not been named in the squad is that they are classified as Under-21 players, meaning they were born on or after 1 January 2005. Therefore both will still be eligible to play in the league despite not being on the squad list.

United have submitted their squad list to the Premier League for the 2026/27 season. A total of 23 players have been named in the squad list, though there are a number of big names missing from the list. The reason for that is that players born on or after 1 January 2005 do not need to be included in the squad, therefore the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro have not been included but are still eligible to play in the Premier League.
Premier League rules state that no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the homegrown player criteria are allowed to be named on the list. A homegrown player is someone who has been registered with any club affiliated to the FA or the FAW for a period of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday, or the end of the season during which he turns 21.

Welcome along to the Michael Carrick press conference blog ahead of United's trip to Everton this weekend. Transfer deadline day has been and gone, and it is fair to say it was quieter than many had hoped it would be. United's main objective was to sign a left-back but that did not come off. Carrick may well be quizzed about the last-minute approach for City's Ait-Nouri today.
Elsewhere, we can expect Carrick to discuss the latest team news ahead of the game on Merseyside. Mount was pictured with the group this week and we could discover more about Amad and De Ligt's fitness as they continue their recoveries from injury.
Stay tuned for updates...
