Eight home-grown players have been included in Arsenal's senior list, while Myles Lewis-Skelly remains eligible without taking up one of the 25 places.
Arsenal have submitted a 22-man senior squad for the first half of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
Five of the players on Arsenal's senior list arrived this summer.
Bruno Guimaraes, Ezri Konsa, Piero Hincapie, Christos Tzolis and Illan Meslier were all signed after the club lifted the Premier League title in May.
There were a number of permanent departures as well.
Gabriel Jesus joined Barcelona, Leandro Trossard moved to Besiktas and Jakub Kiwior signed for Porto. Christian Norgaard left for Everton, Karl Hein joined Werder Bremen and Fabio Vieira completed a permanent move to Hamburg after spending last season there on loan.
Reiss Nelson also left after his contract was terminated by mutual agreement.
Gabriel Martinelli became the latest departure on Thursday when his move to Al-Hilal was confirmed. The Brazilian leaves Arsenal after seven seasons, with the deal making him the club's record sale.
Meslier's arrival means Arteta has three senior goalkeepers on the submitted list, alongside David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The biggest takeaway from the squad list is that Arsenal’s summer business has left them short of players to maximise the full quota allowed. Premier League rules allow clubs to name up to 25 senior players, with no more than 17 permitted to fall outside the home-grown criteria. Arsenal have named 14 non-home-grown players and eight who qualify as homegrown, leaving three unused places on their list.
Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, William Saliba, Ben White, Eze, Konsa, Noni Madueke and Raya are the eight players marked as home-grown.
That designation is based on where a player was registered during his development years rather than nationality. Saliba and Raya, for example, both satisfy the Premier League criteria despite representing France and Spain internationally.
Gabriel Martinelli does not appear on Arsenal's submitted senior list amid the continued uncertainty surrounding his future.
Why Myles Lewis-Skelly Is Not in Arsenal's 22-Man List
Myles Lewis-Skelly is absent from the senior list for a different reason.
The midfielder is included among Arsenal's registered Under-21 players and therefore does not need to occupy one of the 25 senior places in order to play in the Premier League.
Under-21 players sit outside the normal squad limit and remain eligible for selection alongside those named in the senior group.
That gives Arteta more depth than the 22-man figure initially suggests.
Lewis-Skelly has already established himself as part of Arsenal's first-team plans, while Max Dowman and Marli Salmon are two other academy players included on the Under-21 list who have regularly featured around the first team.
Ethan Nwaneri also appears there, although he will spend this season with Borussia Dortmund after completing his loan move. Goalkeeper Tommy Setford is listed among the Under-21 group as well after joining Stevenage for the 2026/27 campaign.
