Liverpool officially confirm new signing two days after transfer deadline

Liverpool added four new players to their first-team squad under Andoni Iraola during the summer transfer window.

The likes of Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz, Ronald Araujo and Bradley Barcola joined the club under the Spaniard, with the Uruguayan joining on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.

Liverpool also made two signings for the future as they continue to strengthen their youth ranks.

They officially confirmed on deadline day that Belgian goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans will join the club in 2027 as he prepares to spend the current campaign on loan at Genk.

The Reds agreed a deal worth €35m for the young goalkeeper, a fee that raised a lot of eyebrows.

And now, they have officially announced that another young talent will join the club in 2027: Djylian N’Guessan.

The young striker has sealed his transfer to Anfield from Saint-Etienne, although he will spend the first half of the current season on loan at Ligue 1 side Brest.

Liverpool wrote on their official website, “The 18-year-old will now spend the rest of the 2026-27 season on loan at Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois.

“N’Guessan rose through Saint-Etienne’s academy to appear 13 times for their senior team and score one goal, having debuted in January 2025.

“At international level, the attacker played in seven matches for France at the 2025 U20 World Cup en route to a fourth-placed finish.

“He was also named in the Team of the Tournament at last summer’s U17 European Championship after netting four goals.”

Welcome to the club, Djylian!
