Manchester City have named a 23-man List A squad for the Champions League, with Nico O'Reilly still qualifying through List B

Manchester City have included four goalkeepers in their Champions League squad - including summer recruits Geronimo Rulli and Max Chabot. Rulli was expected to be named in the squad after joining to replace James Trafford, but 18-year-old Chabot is more of a surprise.
The French teenager arrived from Angers and travelled with the group on the pre-season tour of Asia despite not having completed his move at that point. He did not feature in any games and the club discussed sending him out on a season-long loan before the transfer window shut.
However, having remained at the club Chabot has been included as one of 16 foreign players in City's List A for the first phase of the Champions League. Chabot is one of eight new faces for City in the competition, alongside Rulli, Enzo Fernandez, Allan, Iliman Ndiaye, Elliot Anderson, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Vitor Reis - the Brazilian centre-back who was on loan at Girona last year.
City have named 23 players on their List A, including two club-trained players in Rico Lewis and Phil Foden and four association-trained players. Their inability to name four club-trained players means that List A cannot have the full complement of 25 players.
However, they are allowed to use players who qualify through List B - those aged 21 or under who have been with the club for at least two years. That means Nico O'Reilly and Ryan McAidoo - both on that list - are available for the competition.
