Liverpool have completed another piece of transfer business after deadline day, with the signing of Saint-Etienne youngster Djylian N'Guessan confirmed by the club on Friday morning.
The Reds have agreed terms with the Ligue 1 outfit over a deal that will see the forward officially become a Liverpool player on a permanent transfer in January.
Supporters will have to wait a little longer to see N'Guessan in a Liverpool shirt, with the club also confirming that the teenager would spend the rest of the 2026/27 season on loan with Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois.
The striker has come through the Saint-Etienne academy and made 13 senior appearances for the side since making his debut in January 2025. The French Under-20 international also turned heads at the 2025 Under-20 World Cup, and made the Team of the Tournament at last summer's Under-17 European Championships, as he continues his rise.
Liverpool have not confirmed the price paid for N'Guessan, but widespread reports believe that Saint-Etienne will receive a minimum of £4.3million, with potential add-ons to follow.

N'Guessan is known to have had a medical with Liverpool prior to Deadline Day, with the player's loan to Stade Brestois announced shortly after that, on Thursday.
A delay in the Reds announcement is believed to be due to Premier League restrictions on the number of players clubs can loan overseas, with a maximum of six permitted.

Liverpool already have Harvey Elliott at Valencia, Lucca Brughmans at Genk, Ifeanyi Ndukwe at Levante, Armin Pesci at TSV Hartberg, Calvin Ramsey at St Mirren and Amara Nallo at HJK Helsinki. One of those loan moves could need to be cut short in order to allow N'Guessan to stay on at Stade Brestois, once he officially becomes a Liverpool player.
The French side sit 11th in Ligue 1 after two draws in their opening two fixtures. The forward will work under manager Julian Lachuer, who took over following the passing of predecessor Eric Roy.

N'Guessan is primarily a central striker and is the son of former Leicester City, Lincoln, and Millwall forward Dany N'Guessan. French youth team coach Lionel Rouxel has described the player as a mix between Reds star Hugo Ekitike and Juventus forward Jonathan David.
Speaking to The Guardian as part of the NextGen series, Rouxel said: "He’s a player with two characteristics for the top level: he plays deep and moves quite well between the lines.
The teenager can also be played on either flank, with his versatility set to be an asset to Liverpool in the years to come. N'Guessan has turned heads thanks to his technical abilities, and is most capable when running between the lines. The forward is also a capable finisher on either foot and diligent in his defensive work.
