Liverpool have officially confirmed their squad for the 2026-27 Premier League campaign and the UEFA Champions League group phase.
The Reds made four summer signings and each of them has obviously been included in the squad, with Bradley Barcola their headline arrival from Paris Saint-Germain.
However, in terms of omissions, two key players have been left out of their UEFA Champions League squad by Andoni Iraola, while four players have been included despite being on the sidelines due to injuries.
Liverpool snub Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo
Both players are not part of Iraola’s plans and aren’t expected to feature in the Premier League unless there is an injury crisis.
And as for the Reds’ European adventure, they have been omitted completely, which goes to show that they are well and truly out of the project.
Chiesa was omitted from Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League squad last season as well but was added after Giovanni Leoni’s long-term injury.
He simply hasn’t been able to remain fit and show his class at Anfield permanently, so this decision doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

As for Endo, he can be proud of the career he has had at Anfield, especially during his first season under Jurgen Klopp, when he delivered a string of assured displays at the heart of the midfield.
He is expected to be moved on in the upcoming transfer windows and we would be very surprised if Endo or Chiesa play any meaningful minutes for Liverpool this season.
