Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca shall address the media this afternoon
Welcome to the Enzo Maresca press conference blog ahead of Manchester City's Premier League clash with Coventry.
Transfer deadline day is expected to dominate this afternoon's press conference as City ended the summer window with a flourish. Enzo Fernandez and Iliman Ndiaye both arrived in the final hours, while Jack Grealish moved to Everton on loan.
Maresca could be quizzed on the captaincy situation too. He has repeatedly stated that he would name his four captains after the window had closed. Ruben Dias and Erling Haaland are already in that quartet with two to be added, potentially including new signing Fernandez.
Elsewhere, we should learn whether Fernandez, Ndiaye and fellow new signing Allan Elias, are in a position to feature against Frank Lampard's men. Jeremy Doku could also return to the side this weekend following his injury picked up in the Community Shield.
City have included four goalkeepers in their Champions League squad - including summer recruits Geronimo Rulli and Max Chabot. Rulli was expected to be named in the squad after joining to replace James Trafford, but 18-year-old Chabot is more of a surprise. The French teenager arrived from Angers and travelled with the group on the pre-season tour of Asia despite not having completed his move at that point. He did not feature in any games and the club discussed sending him out on a season-long loan before the transfer window shut.
However, having remained at the club Chabot has been included as one of 16 foreign players in City's List A for the first phase of the Champions League. Chabot is one of eight new faces for City in the competition, alongside Rulli, Enzo Fernandez, Allan, Iliman Ndiaye, Elliot Anderson, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Vitor Reis - the Brazilian centre-back who was on loan at Girona last year.

City, Enzo Maresca and all the other Premier League clubs can park the transfer window for a few months. No more talk of what’s needed, who’s going, net spend and football finances. The squads are set and attention now turns to what happens on the pitch. City have made the perfect start to Maresca’s reign with two wins from two to sit top of the early-season table ahead of the visit of Coventry this weekend.
City may be a little light in some areas and the depth could hamper their ability to fight on all fronts, but the Blues have enough options to field a first XI capable of competing with the best teams at home and abroad. Indeed it’s an XI that isn’t straightforward to select given the quality options available in some areas of the pitch.

Welcome along to the Enzo Maresca press conference blog ahead of Saturday's clash with Coventry at the Etihad Stadium. City's week was tremendously busy as their summer transfer window ended with a flourish. Fernandez and Ndiaye's arrivals were a real statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League and, on paper, City have had the strongest window in the top flight.
While the press conference will likely be dominated by that, we should also see a couple of other topics on the agenda. Doku and Nunes' fitness could be discussed while a decision could have been made on the captaincy now the summer window has closed.
