Liverpool will return to Premier League action on Friday evening when they travel to face Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
The Reds are still searching for their first league victory of the 2026-27 campaign after opening the season with consecutive 2-2 draws against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

Andoni Iraola’s side will be looking to turn those draws into three points against the newly promoted hosts.
The match kicks off at 8pm BST, with Liverpool also set to have new signing Bradley Barcola available as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
The fixture represents Liverpool’s first league game since the summer transfer window closed, allowing Iraola to focus on working with the squad now at his disposal.
Liverpool completed the arrival of Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain before the deadline, while the manager has also welcomed Cody Gakpo remaining at the club.
Liverpool’s attention will therefore be firmly on securing a positive result at Portman Road, but the club has also been linked with a significant development involving one of its former players.
Former Liverpool winger Suso has retired from professional football at the age of 32 after reaching an agreement with Cadiz to become an institutional representative of the Spanish club.
Cadiz confirmed that the former captain will begin his new role in October.
The announcement brings an end to Suso’s playing career after he returned to Cadiz last summer.
The club said the Spaniard made a personal effort to return to the side where he began his football journey, but circumstances during the past year prevented him from achieving his ambition of helping Cadiz return to the top level of Spanish football.
Suso joined Liverpool from Cadiz in the summer of 2010 as a 16-year-old and spent two years developing with the club’s academy and reserve teams before making his senior breakthrough under Brendan Rodgers.
His first-team debut came on September 20, 2012, when he featured in Liverpool’s Europa League victory over Young Boys. Three days later, he made his Premier League debut as a substitute against Manchester United.
The attacking midfielder made 21 appearances for Liverpool and scored once. His only goal came against Middlesbrough in a League Cup tie during the first half of the 2014-15 season.
Suso also spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Almería, making 35 appearances and scoring three goals. He returned to Liverpool before completing a permanent move to AC Milan in January 2015.
His career subsequently took him to several clubs before his return to Cadiz. The Spaniard eventually became captain of his boyhood club, a position he held before ending his playing career.
Cadiz described his professional career as a distinguished one and thanked him for his commitment to the club.
Suso will now remain part of the Cadiz organisation in a different capacity. From October, he will serve as an institutional representative and become one of the public faces of the club and its colours.
