David Moyes was 'disappointed' with how the transfer window played out for Everton - as he admitted that sales were needed to be made and that he'd had no talks with The Friedkin Group over reported attempts to bring fresh investment into the club.
The club’s hierarchy has faced a furious backlash from supporters over what they saw as a series of failings that occurred during the final days of the window.
Over the weekend, Everton pulled out of the sale of academy prospect Harrison Armstrong to Nottingham Forest in the wake of fan outrage. The Blues then endured a chaotic deadline day that finished with Folarin Balogun walking out on a move to the club.
Following Beto's departure to Fiorentina earlier on deadline day, Moyes now has just one recognised striker in Thierno Barry.

And asked for his thoughts on how the window played out, the Everton manager admitted: "[I am] disappointed we didn't do more business, things did not go our way in the end. In football, you have to live with disappointments and move on. In this case, we will."
Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Jack Grealish did join the Blues, but along with Beto, Tim Iroegbunam, Nathan Patterson and Iliman Ndiaye all departed on deadline day, with the latter signing for Manchester City for a deal worth up to £65m.
"I don’t do the financials here, but I think what you’re saying is right. We were looking to get some money in,” Moyes admitted.
"We lost Iliman Ndiaye, who we didn’t want to lose, but it’s quite difficult when the likes of Manchester City come along looking for your players."

On the failure to land Balogun, Moyes added: "It wasn’t anybody’s fault. It happens in football a lot. The player had a problem in his medical and that was simply it. There’s no other story behind it."
It was claimed on Thursday that Everton’s owners, The Friedkin Group, are seeking new investors less than two years after buying the club.
However, Moyes has not been made aware by the group of any deals, saying: "I've had no conversations with them, and certainly not on any investment. That's beyond my jurisdiction."
Before he added: "If you want success, then you all need to be aligned. I think we’ve got new owners in who are still finding their way at the club. I think as we get to know each other a bit more, it will be better."
Despite a number of disappointments during the window, Moyes believes: "I know what I needed and I know what it’s like to build a squad for the Premier League.
"I know the numbers you need. I’ve been around long enough to know that, but some things went against us and some things could have gone better.
"Ultimately, we didn’t want to lose a lot of the players, but for different reasons that had to happen. They’re all going to have to be able to muck in as we’ve got a real small squad now.
"It gives opportunities to some people who have not had them and sometimes in football you need to be given that chance so that you can show what you can do.
"Let’s see if some of them can do that. I have no concerns. I am sure they will be fully at-it."
