Everton could be handed a boost after it emerged that Tottenham Hotspur could look to terminate Richarlison’s contract.
Everton manager David Moyes was open to bringing the Brazilian back to the Hill Dickinson Stadium club in the closing days of the summer transfer window.
Iliman Ndiaye would have moved to Spurs if an agreement was struck, but the Senegalese opted to join Manchester City and the Toffees could not get a deal done for Richarlison.
The 29-year-old has now been dropped from Tottenham’s Premier League squad for the first half of the season.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club want the Brazilian to leave and he has until the end of today to join Trabzonspor after agreeing personal terms with the Turkish Super Lig club.
Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi has made it clear that Richarlison is not in his plans going forward.
The 29-year-old made 43 appearances across all competitions for the Lilywhites last summer and was their highest goalscorer in the Premier League with 11 goals.
However, he made it clear to De Zerbi earlier this summer that he wanted to leave and he was close to returning to Everton.
Tottenham are aware that he could remain without a club beyond this summer, but the transfer window in Brazil is still open until the middle of September.
Should he opt against leaving, Spurs are open to terminating his contract.
Richarlison will become a free agent and will be available to join clubs in the Premier League and outside of England.
It could be good news for the Toffees, who are open to signing free agents after missing out on Folarin Balogun, Joshua Zirkzee and Tammy Abraham on summer transfer deadline day.
