Enzo Fernandez convinced Chelsea legend John Terry he wanted to become a legend at Stamford Bridge, but his conduct in his final few days here proved that to be a complete lie.
Fernandez made it clear throughout the summer transfer window that he was looking to leave the Blues, however it took until deadline day for him to be announced as a Manchester City player.
This left Chelsea very little time to find a replacement, and made Xabi Alonso’s start to life at Stamford Bridge far more difficult than he would have hoped.
With Enzo Fernandez gone and Lamine Camara staying at Monaco, who should partner Moises Caicedo in midfield this season?

Enzo Fernandez lied to John Terry before leaving Chelsea
He was given no choice but to leave the Argentine out of his Premier League squad against Brighton, forcing an injured Moises Caicedo to come back early and potentially suffer more damage as a result.
Terry recently shared that Fernandez had told him he had a desire to become a legend at Stamford Bridge, however his antics in the final few days of his Chelsea career suggest otherwise.
Fabrizio Romano told the ‘Here We Go’ podcast that the midfielder had actually refused to train in his last few days where he was still a member of the Blues squad.
He said: “Chelsea tried in every way to keep Enzo Fernandez and to continue with Enzo Fernandez. Then when they understood that he was no longer training, I can reveal to you Enzo Fernandez in the final four or five days before the deadline day, before the Man City move, he was no longer showing the desire to go to training with Chelsea.
“It’s not just about playing the final two games, he didn’t. But it’s also about training. So the situation was really tense, was really complicated.”

Terry may have been convinced that Fernandez wanted to be a Chelsea legend, although Blues fans will not be feeling that way after he has left them in the lurch.
It can be expected that he will join the list of former Chelsea players to be greeted with boos upon his return to Stamford Bridge as an opponent.
At this stage, this fixture is set to take place on April 24.
