Cam Skattebo and John Harbaugh have warmed up to each other as the duo helps the New York Giants gear up for the 2026 NFL season.
Skattebo is preparing for the second season of his career. He had standout performances as a rookie last year before injuries cut his 2025 campaign short. On the other hand, Harbaugh begins a new chapter of his head coaching career following a long stint with the Baltimore Ravens.
They garnered attention on social media following an interaction between them during the Giants’ preseason finale against the New York Jets. In the clip, Skattebo made a hand gesture while Harbaugh tipped onto his back. The 2025 fourth-round pick then turns his back to say something, and Harbaugh looked visibly irritated.
In a recent conversation with Kay Adams on her show, Up & Adams Show, Skattebo revealed what exactly was going on between him and Harbaugh. The young running back cleared the air about his connection with the Super Bowl-winning veteran coach.
“That video going around of me and Harbaugh on the sidelines of not liking what I said or whatever, but I think the conversation was just less of a happy joking conversation. It was just kind of a more serious conversation. It wasn’t nothing negative or nothing positive,” Skattebo said.
“But I’ll just say the conversation was more messed up to knee the ball going into your own end zone at the one-yard line or actually scoring it? And, that’s kind of what we were talking about,” he added.
"Me and [John Harbaugh], we're on the same page, we love each other."

What lies ahead for Cam Skattebo, Giants this season

Cam Skattebo, John Harbaugh and the Giants will look forward a new era of New York football. Following years of struggle, they hope for a promising future of success.
The Giants will seek to improve upon their 2025 record of 4-13 and make the playoffs after a three-year absence. They also intend to end their 14-year NFC East title drought, currently the longest active drought in the NFC, and put an end to three consecutive seasons with fewer than seven wins.
New York’s 2026 campaign will go underway at home. They host the Dallas Cowboys as kickoff commences on Sept. 13 at 8:20 p.m. ET.
