Alexander Isak was the star of the show for Liverpool as they secured a comfortable 2-0 win against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
The Swedish international’s brilliant first-half brace set the Reds on their way to their first Premier League win under Andoni Iraola after successive draws vs Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.
Isak scored in the previous game as well and made it three in three this season with two clever finishes in the first half.
And after the game, Virgil van Dijk was spotted pushing him in front of the away fans to bask in the adulation.

Isak was subbed off in the second half and didn’t have a chance to complete his hat-trick, as was the case during his previous visit to the ground as a Newcastle player in 2024.
However, after the game, the Swede was back on the pitch to greet his teammates and opposition players.
🚨 Alexander Isak: “This year finally I had a normal pre-season. Last year was not easy. It was a long injury, a difficult season in general”.
“I was thinking just to have a good World Cup, and have a pre season. Last season now behind me, and it’s good”. pic.twitter.com/w7nYLVoT0h

At the time, Van Dijk pulled him out of the crowd and gestured to him to take his moment in front of the traveling Liverpool fans, who were chanting his name after a match-winning performance.
He has already made his mark this season with three goals and will look to carry on in the same vein in the coming weeks.
