GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) — Businesses in Green Bay are preparing for the first college football game played at Lambeau Field in a decade, as Wisconsin and Notre Dame face off this weekend.
The game is projected to bring a $15 million to $20 million economic impact to Brown County and the greater Green Bay area.
Downtown events expected to draw crowds

Nick Meisner, vice president of marketing for Discover Wisconsin, said events downtown, including Badger Bash North on Broadway and events led by UW Athletics, are expected to draw people to the area.
“Events downtown, like Badger Bash North, that on Broadway and UW Athletics are heading up, is going to draw people down there. So, it should be a really busy weekend here in Green Bay and should be pretty beneficial to business owners, who are, you know, right around the stadium area and the downtown district,” Meisner said.
Stadium View Bar and Event Hall is expecting 10,000 to 15,000 customers through its doors, a level comparable to a Green Bay Packers weekend. Many of those customers are expected to attend Badger Bash and other weekend events.
Maddie Troullier, marketing and social media manager for Stadium View Bar and Event Hall, said the venue has multiple events planned.
“but we have a lot going on for the weekend. So we’re super excited. Bands, DJs, contests. We’re doing a hot dog eating contest. So it’ll be fun,” Troullier said.
Out-of-town fans a key draw

Meisner said fans traveling from out of town will be a significant part of the weekend.
“the stadium will be full and rocking and, you know, full of Notre Dame fans, full of Wisconsin fans. It’s really that Lambeau Field is hosting a neutral site game as both teams have to travel to come to the game and that brings those fans as well,” Meisner said.
For Titletown, the weekend means Lambeau Field is hosting more than just the Packers.
“I think that we’re really excited to have another Badger game back here. We’re excited that Lambeau is starting to do more events,” Troullier said.
“we’re really excited, um, to get some more traffic, uh, year round and not just from Packer games and seeing a lot more events at Lambeau,” Troullier said.
