United States women's soccer legend and former team captain Megan Rapinoe may have liked Tom Brady as an NFL player, certainly enjoys him as a broadcaster, but isn't feeling the NFL icon's silly online feud with WWE star Logan Paul.
Rapinoe questioned Brady's recent public behavior during the NFL offseason while hosting Pablo Torre on her podcast, Why Are You Like This? Torre asked the former USWNT star which athlete she felt was the most overrated as a public figure.
Brady became the focus of her answer, but she clarified that her criticism was not about Brady's entire post-playing career at Fox Sports, where he'll earn $37.5 million per year for a decade.
Rapinoe praised Brady's willingness to improve as an NFL broadcaster and said she respects public figures who are willing to struggle in front of an audience while learning something new.
She hid her criticism of the NFL star between two compliments about Brady's broadcasting improvements and his ability to leverage his influence for good in various ways.
"What's up with the slap and the fake beef? I'm confused. Like, why do we need to do that?” Rapinoe said. "I don't think we need to do it. Feels like a weird bit."

The criticism stems from Brady appearing to slap the WWE star during Fanatics Fest, despite having praised him online. Fans of both sports immediately clocked the exchange as part of a wrestling-style storyline rather than a genuine confrontation.
Brady attempted to keep kayfabe alive by dragging the feud online, but to no avail. The pair previously exchanged jabs on social media after Brady implied that professional wrestlers aren't on the same level as NFL stars.
After Paul joked that Brady tried to smack him because he was still upset about losing in flag football, Brady quote-posted the message and wrote that he would “try again next time I see this nerd."
"That is bizarre,” she continued. "Otherwise I think he's really impressive in a lot of ways and has the ability to be an incredibly influential figure in so many ways and then you're like slapping some dude on the ear."
Torre agreed and praised Brady's willingness to grind to become great at broadcasting but argued that athletes can become too wrapped up in chasing inauthentic, algorithm-friendly moments.

The investigative journalist even suggested that the staged-feeling feud risked tarnishing an otherwise compelling post-football career.
Brady's 2026 season kicks off on Sept. 13 during America’s Game of the Week between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.
