Manchester United and Everton will both have players on the sidelines when they meet in the Premier League this weekend. United go into the game looking to get another three points on the board after their victory over Ipswich Town.
Michael Carrick and Co. have three points to their name so far this term, and will be looking to get another victory when they take on the Toffees at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
However, Carrick will be forced to have some members of the United squad on the sidelines when they face Everton this weekend. Likewise, the Toffees will also have at least one absentee for the clash on Merseyside.
From an Everton perspective, the only player guaranteed to be on the sidelines for the match against United is summer signing Christian Norgaard.
The Denmark international is yet to make his first competitive appearance for Everton, and manager David Moyes explained last week why a return is not expected anytime soon.
“Christian is still not making great progress at the moment,” Moyes said. “It’s not something where we’re probably going to get him back quickly, so we’ll just need to see how that develops.”
For United, they will have several players unavailable for selection for the trip to face Everton. One will be summer signing Carlos Baleba, who suffered an ankle injury during pre-season.
"He's got a little ankle issue,” Carrick said in August when asked about Baleba’s fitness.
"So, maybe a couple of weeks or so, maybe three weeks, we'll see. But we knew that before, so it's no major issue. It’ll be great to have him back when we can."
Manuel Ugarte remains a long-term absentee for United with a knee injury, while Matthijs de Ligt and Tom Heaton are not expected to make a return from their injury concerns.
There is also concern about whether or not Amad Diallo will be available for United to face Everton, with the winger suffering a muscle injury during training and a timeframe for a return remains uncertain.
Two players who could recover from injury concerns for United are Luke Shaw and Mason Mount.

Shaw was withdrawn with a fitness issue during the win over Ipswich Town last weekend, but is expected to be available to face Everton. Meanwhile, Carrick has confirmed that Mount is back in training after recovering from a foot injury.
The United boss said: "Mase is back around the group, which was great. Trained this week, so that’s a big positive for us."
