Liverpool have made promises to Lamine Camara that they will return for him in January after Deadline Day transfer talks, with the AS Monaco star dominating in midfield against PSG.
On Friday night, Liverpool beat Ipswich Town 2-0 in their first Premier League win of the season, with a brace of assists from Cody Gakpo for a brace of goals from Alexander Isak.

Liverpool lost some key players in the summer, with Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Ibrahima Konate moving on for free, but the Reds did do some very good business. Deals for Bradley Barcola, Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo is impressive.
That said, there were some key areas of the squad neglected, including midfield after the Merseysiders strangely decided against signing Lamine Camara, but they have told him they will return in January.
On Friday night, his AS Monaco side enjoyed a 2-1 away win over PSG, with Camara standing out as one of the best players in the stadium, with a 90% pass accuracy, 7 tackles, 6 ball recoveries and 12/20 ground duels won.
The Senegal international is a sensational player, and the €70m Monaco wanted this summer would have proven to be a bargain had Liverpool paid it.

Chelsea nearly scored a €55m bargain for Camara on Deadline Day, but Monaco pulled the plug on the transfer, and Ben Jacobs reported that Liverpool told him to wait for them until January.
Jacobs reported: “Liverpool Football Club made a call this evening and more than one to say to the camp of Lamine Camara to WAIT, to say to Monaco to WAIT, because Liverpool don’t want Camara now [this summer].
“They never explored it. Alexis Mac Allister is still at the club but my understanding is that Liverpool said to Monaco wait, Liverpool said to Camara WAIT. Liverpool didn’t interfere in the deal relating to Chelsea. We are saying all Liverpool did was tell Monaco and Lamine Camara to wait, if you don’t get your move… we will be back potentially in 2027.”

An agent also reportedly visited Liverpool’s London office to float the idea of Camara moving to Anfield, which may happen in January, although some reports have suggested that the 22-year-old joining the Reds would trigger the departure of Alexis Mac Allister.
