Everton’s unbeaten start faces its biggest test yet when Manchester United visit the Hill Dickinson Stadium tomorrow.
David Moyes’ side have taken four points from their opening two Premier League games and also progressed in the Carabao Cup, while United arrive after beating Ipswich 5-2.
Here are seven numbers worth knowing before the 2pm kick-off.
1. Three games unbeaten
Everton haven’t lost in any competition this season.
A 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace was followed by a 4-0 Carabao Cup win at Preston and a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth.
2. A first since 2021/22?
Victory tomorrow would give Everton wins in their opening two home Premier League matches for the first time since 2021/22.
Palace were beaten in the first league game at the Hill Dickinson this season.
3. United won here last season
Tomorrow will be United’s second competitive visit to the Hill Dickinson.
They won the first 1-0 in February, although Everton had beaten them by the same score at Old Trafford earlier in the season.
4. United lead the all-time series
This will be the 218th competitive meeting between the clubs.
United have won 98 of the previous 217, Everton 72, with 48 draws.
5. Fernandes has 11 goal involvements
Bruno Fernandes has scored six goals and provided five assists in 13 Premier League appearances against Everton.
His 11 goal involvements equal Ryan Giggs and David Beckham for the most by a United player against the Toffees in the competition.
6. Fernandes arrives after a hat-trick
The United captain scored three times in last weekend’s 5-2 victory over Ipswich.
Everton therefore face a player who has already scored more Premier League goals this season than the entire United team managed in their opening defeat at Hull.
7. Moyes has lost 23 times to United
Moyes has suffered 23 Premier League defeats against his former club.
Only Harry Redknapp, with 24, has lost more times to United as a manager in the competition.
Moyes did, however, beat them at Old Trafford last season.
