A Liverpool youngster has taken an important step in his development after making his professional debut for Port Vale on Saturday.
The League Two outfit travelled to Salford City looking for their first victory, having collected two points from four matches.

However, they were beaten 1-0 at the Peninsula Stadium, with Joe Powell’s second-half strike proving decisive.
Salford’s victory moved them onto six points, while Port Vale remain on two after five matches.
Despite the disappointing result for Jon Brady’s side, the game provided a milestone for one of Liverpool’s forwards, introduced from the bench with around 20 minutes remaining.
According to Lewis Bower on X, Keyrol Figueroa was brought on to make his professional debut, beginning his spell in senior football.
The 20-year-old joined Port Vale on loan from Liverpool on deadline day, with the move confirmed by both clubs this week.
Figueroa joined Liverpool’s Academy at Under-14 level and has progressed through the Reds’ youth ranks, becoming a prolific figure for the Under-21s.
He scored 12 goals in 15 Premier League 2 appearances last season, while he started both of the Under-21s’ opening two matches of the current campaign before moving to Port Vale.
The forward has already made his mark on the international stage.
Born in Honduras, Figueroa has represented the country at senior level and made his international debut in a friendly against Argentina this summer, having previously represented the United States at youth level.
His loan move to Port Vale is designed to provide experience of senior football, something Liverpool will hope accelerates his development.
While Port Vale will be disappointed to leave Salford empty-handed, Figueroa’s debut offers a positive moment as he begins what could be a hugely important season for him.
Congratulations to Keyrol Figueroa who made his professional debut today coming from the bench with 20 minutes to go for Port Vale.
