Newsome, of course, is no stranger to Pickens -- though the pass catcher previously described the corner as one.
In 2024, when Newsome was with the Cleveland Browns and Pickens played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the two were involved in a scuffle on the final play of a [Week 12 upset](https://www.nfl.com/plus/games/steelers-at-browns-2024-reg-12/) by Cleveland. When asked about Newsome a few weeks later, Pickens told reporters "[I don't even know who that is](https://www.nfl.com/news/steelers-george-pickens-doubles-down-on-negative-browns-comments-won-t-acknowledge-greg-newsome)."
Newsome, who had, in fact, played in the same division as Pickens for three seasons at that point, fired back that Pickens was a guy "who cares about himself."
Two years later, Newsome and Pickens find themselves as divisional opponents once again.
The Cowboys boast one of the league's most explosive offenses, in large part thanks to the duo of Pickens and Lamb, while the Giants' defense is hoping to rediscover respectability under new coach John Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson after finishing 26th in points allowed last season.
Newsome, a newcomer to New York, has full faith in the Giants doing just that.
Shutting down the Cowboys' passing attack in the _Sunday Night Football_ opener would go a long way in proving it.
