The new Premier League season has already offered plenty of intrigue, with Liverpool beginning life under Andoni Iraola in a period of transition.
After consecutive 2-2 draws against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, the Reds finally secured their first league victory of the campaign on Friday, beating newly promoted Ipswich Town 2-0 at Portman Road.

Alexander Isak provided the decisive moment, scoring twice inside the opening nine minutes, while Cody Gakpo supplied both assists.
The result leaves Liverpool with five points from their opening three matches, six goals scored and four conceded, with the club currently sitting fifth in the table.
Beyond the first-team rebuild, however, Liverpool continue to look towards the next generation.
The club’s recruitment network remains active across Africa, with the academy increasingly becoming a pathway for promising young players identified outside Europe’s traditional football markets.
That search recently took Liverpool to The Gambia, where two teenage prospects were invited to Merseyside for an extended assessment at the AXA Training Centre.
The players Musa Jatta Bajaha and Sheriff Bah, have now completed their two-week trials with Liverpool.
The pair travelled from Gambian top-flight club BST Galaxy FC and trained with Liverpool’s academy groups, including the Under-19s and Under-21s.
Jatta is described as a natural midfielder, while Bah operates as an attacking midfielder.
Both were given the opportunity to test themselves against players already operating within Liverpool’s academy structure, with their technical ability reportedly making a strong impression during the assessment.
Jatta, in particular, is understood to have generated significant interest beyond Liverpool, with reports indicating that clubs from other major European leagues have begun monitoring his development.
That interest could add another layer to Liverpool’s decision-making as they consider whether to pursue a longer-term agreement.
The opportunity also represents a significant moment for BST Galaxy.
The Banjul-based club, which competes in The Gambia’s GFF League First Division, has emerged as a pathway for young Gambian talent, with the club’s CEO Bubacarr “Steve” Trawally accompanying the two players to England.
BST Galaxy confirmed that the trio travelled on August 12 for the trial.
Liverpool’s interest also follows the successful progression of another West African prospect, Senegalese defender Mor Talla Ndiaye, who joined the club from Amitie FC in a reported £1 million deal earlier this year.
Ndiaye subsequently featured for the first team during pre-season and has been involved with the Under-21s.
For Jatta and Bah, the trial is not yet a transfer.
But having completed two weeks inside Liverpool’s academy, impressed technically and attracted wider European attention, both teenagers have put themselves firmly on the radar.
