The Blues' 1980s star is set to make a return to the airwaves next week

Everton FC legend Andy Gray is set to make his return to UK broadcasting. For years as a football commentator on Sky Sports, Scotsman Gray established himself as one of the most well known voices in British TV.
In that time some of his most iconic lines have become forever etched in the minds of football fans across the country. It was in 1992, after retiring from his playing career two years earlier, when Gray joined Sky Sports ahead of the start of the Premier League, and for nearly two decades he was an ever-present on the channel working primarily as a co-commentator.

Forming a close partnership with Martin Tyler and Richard Keys in that time, he became known for a catalogue of phrases and iconic moments.
However, his time at the broadcaster came to a end in 2011 when his contract was terminated for “unacceptable and offensive behaviour”.
Gray also previously co-hosted a show on talkSPORT with his long-time on-screen partner Keys, with the last episode airing in 2013.
Following their departure from Sky, Gray and Keys headed to the Middle East, where they presented coverage of the Premier League for Qatari channel beIN Sports.
Now, Gray is set to make a return to the airwaves next week when he begins his new role with talkSPORT. He will start his time back with the broadcaster as Liverpool take on Atletico Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Gray, 70, is remembered across Merseyside after becoming a key part of Everton's mid-1980s trophy-winning teams. During his success at Goodison Park, Gray won the FA Cup in 1984, scoring in the final against Watford.

A year later, Everton were triumphant again as they were crowned league champions as well as winners of the European Cup Winners' Cup, where he scored in the final against Austrian side Rapid Vienna.
After being sold by Everton in 1985 amid the arrival of Gary Lineker, Gray went on to play for Aston Villa, Notts County, West Bromwich Albion, Rangers and Cheltenham Town.
