On behalf of the Denver Nuggets, Christian Braun is simply happy to welcome DeMar DeRozan to their side.
The Nuggets star expressed enthusiasm about the offseason addition of the former NBA star to help them compete next year.
“Really excited to play with another All-Star and learn from him,” Braun told Sean Keeler of The Denver Post about the DeRozan signing.
“I’m always very confident in what our front office does and the team they’ll put together every single year.”
DeMar DeRozan joins Denver Nuggets
DeMar DeRozan has signed a one-year, $3.9 million deal with the Denver Nuggets this offseason. He entered unrestricted free agency after the Sacramento Kings waived him.
He averaged 18.4 points, 4.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.0 steal over 77 games for Sacramento this past 2025-26 season.
With the key departures of Peyton Watson, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Jonas Valanciunas, DeRozan stands as a highly significant piece that Denver tapped to its roster. While he is no longer in his prime, the former NBA star is projected to give the Nuggets a reliable offensive spark beyond Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
DeRozan primarily joined the Nuggets despite interest from other teams, which shows his strong intent to contend for a title.
With DeRozan, the Nuggets will look to run it back after last season's disappointing ending.
