Cornerback Zech McPhearson has reached an injury settlement while also being released from the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday.

On Saturday, it was announced that he and the Rams have reached an injury settlement along with a contract termination.
McPhearson was signed by the Rams on August 9, but was placed on Injured Reserve; he hasn't played a regular-season NFL game since 2022.
A native of Baltimore, McPhearson attended Riverdale Baptist High School before starting college at Penn State, where he recorded 14 tackles across nine games. He later transferred to Texas Tech, becoming a key contributor and starting all 12 games as a junior while finishing with 51 tackles and two blocked kicks.
As a senior, McPhearson started nine of 10 games, posting 53 tackles and four interceptions while recording at least two tackles in every contest. His standout season earned first-team All-Big 12 honors from conference coaches, the Associated Press, and Phil Steele, plus third-team All-American recognition from Pro Football Focus and first-team All-Texas honors from Dave Campbell's Texas Football.

McPhearson would be taken by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and soon signed to a four-year rookie deal.
In 2022, he earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after recording two tackles and recovering an onside kick against the Detroit Lions.
But McPhearson suffered a torn Achilles during the 2023 preseason, ending his season. The Eagles waived him in 2024, and he later joined the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad before signing a reserve/future contract.
Jacksonville placed McPhearson on injured reserve in August 2025 before releasing him later that month.
