It had just about everything: brutal transfer hijacks between Premier League rivals, some £100m+ mega signings, and Arsenal even tried to sign superstar Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid, which went exactly as most thought it would - unsuccessfully.

Few had as rough a time of it as Everton, however, who were reported to have missed out on at least six targets on Deadline Day, with more names emerging by the day. Aston Villa didn’t have the best of summers either, as they saw their entire Europa League winning core ripped out and distributed directly to their Premier League rivals.
Today’s rumours round-up starts at Tottenham, where the club continue in their attempts to offload Richarlison, after deciding not to include him in their Premier League squad for the 2026/27 campaign. Spurs spent well over £300m on new signings over the summer, and they’re now looking to trim their wage bill while transfer windows remain open elsewhere.
According to Team Talk, Tottenham are looking at options in the Saudi Pro League, Portugal and Brazil, after a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor collapsed before the Super Lig’s deadline. No specific clubs are mentioned, but it’s noted that Richarlison’s entourage are supposedly favouring a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League for their client.
The 3AM Verdict: Richarlison never really cut the mustard at Spurs, and they’re doing the right thing changing course and bringing in other options. The mercurial talent has had some real highs during his nine-season spell in the Premier League, however, with his best days coming in his first couple of campaigns spent at Everton.

Over at Anfield, Liverpool are in fine spirits after a confident 2-0 win over Ipswich Town on Friday night - a game in which big-money striker Alexander Isak bagged both goals and looked back to his best. The Reds failed to sign Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr during the summer despite making two bids, but they could be set to move for him again in January.
That’s according to Football Insider, who say that the Senegalese sensation “still wants to join Liverpool” and that the player will stay on the Reds’ radar “for months to come”. There’s little else in terms of any new detail, but it is claimed that the player’s representatives made it clear to Palace they were less than impressed with the club’s decision not to sell him.
The 3AM Verdict: Having a star on the books who doesn’t want to play for you is never easy - just look atEnzo Fernandez at Chelsea before he got his move to Man City. Sarr needs to knuckle down and just get on with things for now - if his form tanks, then Liverpool may well cast their eyes elsewhere. Selling in January won’t be ideal for Palace, so they’ll no doubt already be looking into potential Sarr replacements.

It’s not a great time to be a winger at Chelsea, now new boss Xabi Alonso has implemented his preferred system that gets its width from wing-backs instead. This has seen the likes of Jamie Gittens and Estevao get limited minutes, while Pedro Neto has been utilised in a more defensive role. He was linked with a big-money exit over the summer, but nobody could meet the Blues’ asking price.
Caught Offside now report that both Arsenal and Manchester City are “among the clubs most interested” in signing the Portugal international in January, with a bid of £69m rumoured to now be enough to tempt Chelsea into a sale. Both clubs are tipped to keep working away “laying the groundwork” over the coming months, with an eye to making a move in the new year.
The 3AM Verdict: We’re not really sold on this one. Manchester City signed Iliman Ndiaye before the deadline, so they’re now well stocked on the right. Arsenal have both Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke to play there, and you’d imagine they’ll be saving their pennies for a left-sided forward. Neto may well go, but we don’t think it will be to either of those two.
