Liverpool’s Kieran Morrison has kicked off his first loan spell in excellent form, with two assists in five for Sheffield Wednesday including Saturday’s winner.
After an impressive pre-season under Andoni Iraola, Morrison took time to consider his offers ahead of a spell away from Liverpool on loan.
The 19-year-old chose to head to League One with Sheffield Wednesday, turning down opportunities in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and the Championship.
So far, his decision has been vindicated, with Morrison taking up a key role under Henrik Pedersen and catching the eye on the wing.
Saturday saw Morrison tee up Yan Valery for the winner in a 2-1 victory away to Peterborough, with Wednesday making it four wins from five.
Having already forced an own goal from Josh Feeney to put his side one up, the teenager then whipped in a corner late into the second half for Valery to ensure the three points.
Morrison now has two assists in five games for Wednesday, and the win over Peterborough saw him play his first full 90 minutes at senior level.

It will certainly serve him well as he aims to earn a long-term future at Liverpool, having already signed a new four-year contract over the summer.
Soon after completing his late-summer move to Hillsborough, Morrison was asked what drew him to the club, saying: “The history and the fans. It’s a massive, massive club.
“When Henrik was interested in me, I didn’t have any second thoughts. I know that I’ll get a lot of game time in this team, he said that to me, and he sold me his idea of the game.
“I just want to get in the team, I want to do what’s best for me, my team and the fans, and hopefully get us promoted by the end of the season.

“It’s not like I’ve got a lot of experience, but that’s what I need this season, to get a lot of minutes in my legs in the senior game, get as many goals and assists, help the team and win as many games as possible.”
Saturday also brought a senior debut for Liverpool striker Keyrol Figueroa, who came off the bench in Port Vale’s 1-0 loss to Salford City.
Figueroa joined Port Vale on deadline day and looks to be in line for plenty of minutes in Jon Brady’s side.
