Patrick Beverley is one of the rare players from USA that managed to have an impressive career in both the NBA and European basketball.
Former EuroCup MVP and EuroLeague Final Four participant is staying in Europe next season and he will.play for Boulazac in France.
Beverley talked as a guest on Thanalysis Show, where he claimed that there are some NBA superstars that wouldn't be able to play in Europe today:
"Team before every individual"
"There are currently NBA superstars who couldn't play in Europe. I really mean that. They simply couldn't," Beverley started.
"Because the adaptation is completely different. Everything goes through the team. The coach controls everything. It's almost like a college team made up of adults. The team comes before every individual.”
"They have no idea, and I don't mean no disrespect towards their physical abilities and what they can do on the court, I'm talking about mentality."
Everything is based on defense
Beverley went more in-depth about the issue and elaborated the reasons:
"Sometimes you even share your hotel room with a teammate, travels are not organised completely comfortable like in the NBA, even though that aspect has definitely improved a lot," he started.
"At the game coach can decide that we don't shoot until there is less than 6 seconds on the clock, everything is based on defense, it's completely different," he concluded.
