Everton will host Manchester United on Sunday as they hope to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League.
The Toffees suffered a 1-0 defeat when they faced the Red Devils at home last season, with Benjamin Sesko grabbing the only goal.
Everton are likely to be without Christian Norgaard for the game against United, but David Moyes should have a fully fit squad to choose from outside of that. That certainly doesn't mean the Everton boss has a plethora of players to pick from, given the difficulties the Toffees endured during the transfer window.
As we look forward to the game against the Manchester club, we spoke to United's Roundtable contributor Dylan Penketh ahead of the game, to get a little more information about the Red Devils.
Man Utd's inconsistencies
United got off to a disastrous start to the season in the Premier League, losing away to newly promoted Hull City. After a solid end to the 2024/2025 campaign, United's performance came somewhat out of the blue, and Dylan has put it down to the mentality of the players.
"A lot of this was down to mentality. It felt as if the United players went into the Hull game not assuming they were going to win, but assuming they were the better side."
United then bounced back emphatically with a convincing victory over Ipswich Town, with Bruno Fernandes grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck by producing a hat-trick at Old Trafford.

Dylan believes that United learnt from their mistakes against Hull, and the inclusion of young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo helped get them over the line.
"Against Ipswich, they had that lesson behind them, and they knew they needed to show up. Kobbie Mainoo starting was also a huge driving force."
Areas for Everton to get at
There's no doubt, United have looked vulnerable defensively in their games so far, conceding four goals across two games against newly promoted sides.
Dylan has singled out one defender as a weakness for Everton to potentially exploit this weekend.
"Mainly left-back. Shaw showed vs Ipswich that direct pace can get the better of him, so channel runs could be Everton’s way forward."
That's certainly interesting from an Everton perspective. They could have the ideal winger for the situation in Brennan Johnson, who loves to stay high and wide and play on the last defender, looking to get in behind at every opportunity.
Dylan also mentions the mismatch between Matheus Cunha and Everton's centre-back pairing as a possible weakness for United in this game.
"Also, if Cunha starts up front, he can tend to drop deep if he gets physically over powered, which could happen with Everton’s CBs."
Who Everton should be looking out for
When asking Dylan about who Everton fans should be looking out for, we asked him to not include Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder is by far and away United's best player, and obviously someone Everton need to try to keep quiet.
Outside of that, Dylan suggests that Mainoo is someone who has the ability to control games in the middle of the park, but Diogo Dalot could be a wildcard.

"Kobbie Mainoo. The guy runs games in a very non-descriptive fashion, always helping United maintain possession and dominate on the ball.
"Another player who goes under the radar is Diogo Dalot. We’ve not lost in his last 17 starts & won 14 of those, and his athletic ability has a huge part to play in this."
Taking one player from Everton
The answer from both Crystal Palace and Bournemouth's Roundtable representatives was Iliman Ndiaye, but he, unfortunately, isn't available for Dylan to steal anymore.
Instead, he's opted for a player who has been regularly linked with a move to Old Trafford, while also giving a shoutout to former United midfielder James Garner.
"Branthwaite is the obvious one. United need new centre-backs in the next 12 months and Jason Wilcox loves him for good reason.
Having Jimmy Garner back would be great considering our need for proven DMs."
