**Liverpool remain keen on signing Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh in the January transfer window, according to reports, as the Reds still need to find a replacement for Mohamed Salah.**
According to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/liverpool/sources-yankuba-minteh-to-liverpool-update), Liverpool will be keeping a close eye on Minteh and may return with another bid for the Gambian winger after having multiple bids rejected in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool decided to walk away from talks with Brighton after they demanded £75m for the 22-year-old, but the failed transfer hasn’t discouraged the Reds.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, Pete O’Rourke explained: _“Liverpool will be looking at a number of targets in January if they are planning to bring in a new right-sided attacker, somebody to fill the void of Mohamed Salah. I’m sure they’ll be keeping tabs on Yankuba Minteh’s situation at Brighton, they made a couple of bids for him that were rejected._
_“A lot will depend on what Liverpool do between now and January, if Barcola comes in and hits the ground running and maybe they find a solution to that right wing position, whether that’s Cody Gakpo or Victor Munoz, then they might not need to bring in that right-sided attacker.”_

He will need some time to get his fitness levels up, but he is set to transform Andoni Iraola’s attack.
Cody Gakpo is putting up a serious fight for his place in the team with one goal and three assists in three Premier League games, while Victor Munoz will be a more than useful option this season.
Alexander Isak has also returned to form after the nightmare season he endured in 2025/26, with three goals in three Premier League games.
Keeping the Swede fit will be critical to Liverpool’s chances of success this season, particularly until Hugo Ekitike returns from his Achilles tendon recovery. The French striker scored 17 goals and provided 6 assists before his debut season was cruelly cut short when his Achilles ruptured against PSG.
If he returns at the level he was at before the injury, Liverpool will have one of the most terrifying attacks in Europe.
