The 2026 Emmy Awards are here. Well, the Creative Arts Emmy categories are, at least. The Television Academy began two nights of pre-Primetime Emmy Award ceremonies this weekend, and Bad Bunny dominated the night. “The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny” won seven Emmys, including Outstanding Variety Special (Live), which means the Puerto Rican icon is now halfway to EGOT with his first Emmy win. Bunny’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” also won Outstanding Makeup For A Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program.
The other big winner of the night was the now sadly canceled “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” which took six wins, including a win for Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series for “Colbert Before Air.” Disney+’s “The Muppet Show” special took four wins, including Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded). There is still no word on whether a full season or more specials will be greenlit.
Octavia Spencer is also halfway to EGOT, winning the narrating Emmy for “Lost Women of Alaska.” Mariska Hargitay, who will host the Primetime Emmy Awards a little over a week from now, saw her documentary “My Mom Jayne” win statues for Documentary or Nonfiction Special and Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program.
Jimmy Kimmel won Best Game Show Host while “Jeopardy!” won Best Game Show.
“The Traitors” won six Emmys, including Alan Cumming‘s third Outstanding Host Emmy in a row. “Love on the Spectrum” won Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program for the second year in a row while “Antique Roadshow” won its first Outstanding Structured Reality Program since the category was created in 2014. Overall, this is. “Roadshow’s” first win for the PBS series since 24 nominations beginning in 2002.
Sunday night will feature even more categories, including the Guest Actor and Guest Actress Emmy winners.
