Manchester United can make it back-to-back wins this afternoon when they face Everton in the Premier League.
The Reds' campaign kicked off with a splutter at Hull on the opening day but a 5-2 victory over Ipswich last time out has them on the board for the 2026/27 season. They'll be looking to maintain their 100% record at the Hill Dickinson Stadium today, having won their only previous visit there 1-0 thanks to a Benjamin Sesko strike.
Michael Carrick has a few injury concerns ahead of today's game, and we've rounded up the injury latest and possible return dates below:
Luke Shaw
Shaw was forced off with 20 minutes to go in United's win over Ipswich. There are no major concerns over the left-back, despite the injury issues he has experienced throughout his career, and it's hoped he will be fine to start today.
Potential return date: Everton (today)
Mason Mount
Mount picked up an injury in United's pre-season clash with PSG and has not featured since.
Carrick said he hoped he would be back last week, but he was not named in the matchday squad. No update was given at Carrick's pre-match press conference so it is expected he will be in the sqaud today.
Potential return date: Everton (today)
Carlos Baleba
Baleba arrived at United with a small issue and when asked when he could make his debut for the club, Carrick said: "He's got a little ankle issue. So, maybe a couple of weeks or so, maybe three weeks, we'll see. But we knew that before, so it's no major issue. It’ll be great to have him back when we can."
He could be back before the international break in a few weeks but United might decide it is best to save his debut until after that.
Potential return date: Tottenham (October 10).
Amad
Amad has been absent since he picked up an injury in training. He is not expected to feature today.
Potential return date: Unknown.
Matthijs de Ligt
De Ligt hasn't appeared for United since suffering a back injury last year which he has since undergone surgery on. He is back training with the team but a return to the first team seems to be a few weeks away at least.
With a three-week international break to come it seems likely the target will be set for him to return after that.
Potential return date: Tottenham (October 10).
Tom Heaton
Heaton picked up a hamstring injury in pre-season. He was expected to undergo tests to discover the extent of the issue a few weeks ago but there has been no update since.
Potential return date: Unknown.
Manuel Ugarte
Ugarte suffered a ligament tear in his knee at the World Cup this summer. He is not expected to return until next year but has been included in United's Champions League and Premier League squads.
Potential return date: 2027
