One Arsenal star came in for wholesale praise ahead of the champions' clash against Chelsea

Viktor Gyokeres was praised for his sharpness in training ahead of Arsenal's all-important match against Chelsea.
The Premier League champions host the Blues on Sunday in their first London derby of the season, with both teams having won their opening two league fixtures. As is the case before every match, the Gunners posted the latest edition of Inside Training on YouTube, showcasing portions of their preparations for the weekend games.
The four-minute video was mostly comprised of on-pitch drills and shooting practices, with Gyokeres playing a starring role. The 27-year-old left the Arsenal faithful full of excitement after clinically finishing several chances in the box, while linking up successfully with Eberechi Eze on two occasions.
One fan wrote in the comments section: "Viktor Gyokeres looking sharp," while another stated: "Gyokeres looking sharp!! That Eze-Gyok linkup looks real nice. COYG." A third user urged the fanbase to back the striker: "We have to cheer on Gyokeres, give him support, make him feel important, and most of all respect him!"
A fourth supporter hoped Gyokeres would earn a first start of the season, as they stated: "Lot of focus on Gyokeres [in] this video. Hope he starts and plays a major part." The Swede enjoyed a respectable debut campaign with Arsenal last season, scoring 21 goals in 55 games across all competitions.
However, his overall play and influence came under criticism at times, with his future even being called into question this summer amid Arsenal's interest in signing Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.

Gyokeres has yet to play a minute in Arsenal's victories against Coventry City and Aston Villa this season, with his only appearance coming in his 15-minute cameo against Manchester City in the Community Shield.
Kai Havertz has been preferred as the first-choice striker by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who promised opportunities to the unused substitutes following their 1-0 win at Villa Park.

The Spaniard said: "It was a squad performance and a squad victory today, and I'm sad for the ones that didn’t have the chance to play because they all want to be participating.
"But sometimes you have certain issues with players physically that you have to make changes, and I'm sure there are going to be minutes for everybody." Arteta has so far preferred the likes of Eze and Noni Madueke as his attacking substitutions off the bench, ahead of Gyokeres.
