Coventry are the only Premier League team to face both Arsenal and Manchester City this season, with Frank Lampard commenting on the 'difference' between facing the two title contenders

Frank Lampard has given a unique perspective on the difference between facing Arsenal and Manchester City this season. Coventry City have had a demanding start to the Premier League campaign, taking on both title challengers in the early stages.
The Chelsea icon's side lost 3-0 to the Gunners in their first top-flight fixture in nearly a quarter of a century. They then succumbed 1-0 at home to fellow newcomers Hull City before suffering an identical defeat at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Coventry were unlucky not to take a result from Enzo Maresca's side after being denied several close opportunities. And Lampard gave his take on what was different between their Week 1 and Week 3 matchups as Erling Haaland's first-half winner.
"We’re not playing Manchester City every week," he told reporters after Saturday's loss. "The Premier League is a high, high level and we’ll play different versions of quality against us.
"What’s more important to the players today is they take confidence out of the performance and we’re disappointed to lose. But in reflection there will be a lot of good taken out of it if we can use it in our mentality."
He then turned the dial back in comparison to their Premier League opener against Arsenal a fortnight ago. And while Lampard's assessment was centred more around his own team's progression, it could also serve as a barometer highlighting the differences between those two opponents.
"Going to Arsenal two weeks ago felt very different, it felt like our first game for 25 years in the Premier League," he continued. "Today felt like a competitive Premier League team coming with a clear idea and a threat, so we must take that forward."

Coventry went close to opening the scoring on several occasions in Saturday's trip to the Etihad. Taiwo Awoniyi intercepted deep in City territory before drilling an effort just wide of the post, while a heroic Gianluigi Donnarumma save denied Jack Rudoni at close range.
Lampard's side controlled just 22.9 per cent of the possession against City but were able to stay competitive and hit the target three times. They had a larger share of the ball at Arsenal with 35.9 per cent but tested Gunners keeper David Raya just once.

The end result was the same, however, as Coventry remain in the hunt for their first points of the season and stay stuck to the bottom of the table. City keep their spot atop the standings for now, though that could change after Arsenal host Chelsea on Sunday.
Neither London side has dropped a point thus far in the campaign and has a chance of going top with the right result at the Emirates Stadium. Lampard hasn't had the pleasure of facing his old club this term, with Coventry not due to host Chelsea until Boxing Day.
