Curtis Jones playing for Inter Milan
Curtis Jones made his first appearance in front of the San Siro faithful as an Inter Milan player on Saturday evening, with the midfielder featuring in a dramatic comeback victory over Napoli.
Inter found themselves 2-0 down shortly after half-time as Matteo Politano and Rasmus Højlund put Napoli in control.

However, Cristian Chivu’s side produced an impressive response, with Lautaro Martinez pulling one back before Marcus Thuram levelled the contest.
Martinez then completed the turnaround in the 91st minute, sealing a memorable 3-2 victory for the Nerazzurri.
Jones was introduced at the interval, replacing Petar Sučić, as Chivu looked to change the direction of the game.
The former Liverpool midfielder helped Inter wrestle back control during their second-half fightback, showing plenty of composure in the middle of the pitch as the hosts pushed for a result.
His performance has already attracted attention from the Italian media, with Corriere della Sera handing Jones a 6/10 rating.
Their assessment was brief but positive, highlighting one particular contribution: “The right cross at the right time.”
Jones’ cross sparked chaos in the box and ultimately led to Martinez poking it home to win the game for the home side.
Gazzetta dello Sport have also been impressed by what they have seen from the 25-year-old since his arrival from Liverpool.
The Italian newspaper previously highlighted Jones’ personality during his Serie A debut against Cagliari, pointing to the moment he demanded the ball from a throw-in in the 65th minute.
Moments later, he attempted an ambitious effort which was deflected behind for a corner, with Gazzetta describing the sequence as evidence of the audacity and talent he possesses.
After the game, Jones interestingly admitted that a starting position at Inter will not simply be handed to him.
“Of course, I have joined a great team, so it is not going to be an easy ride,” Jones explained. “I cannot just come here and expect to play every game; I have to earn my place as well.”
“Therefore, every chance I get to play, I want to give it my all,” he added.
That admission is particularly intriguing given that Jones departed Liverpool this summer in search of greater regularity within a starting eleven.
Having now made two Serie A appearances from the bench, he will hope his early performances can convince Chivu that he deserves a starting role sooner rather than later.
