Arsenal reportedly had a transfer shortlist prepared for the summer window, but missed out on several deals to their Premier League rivals. One player went to Liverpool in a deal worth more than £100million, while there were several other similar-priced transfers completed.

Mikel Arteta welcomed four new additions to his squad after Arsenal won the Premier League title last season, but did see some departures, too.

Bruno Guimaraes, Ezri Konsa, Christos Tzolis and Illan Meslier were all signed by the reigning league English champions on permanent deals.

Arsenal also sanctioned the exits of Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Christian Norgaard and Fabio Vieira, who all left on permanent deals.

With the summer transfer window now firmly shut, a report has emerged claiming to reveal the 21 additional players who were on Arsenal's radar ahead of deadline day.

BBC Sport have reported that Morgan Rogers sat at the very top of Arsenal's wishlist this summer. However, the England international instead completed a £117million switch to Chelsea.

Bradley Barcola also features on the list as a target for the Gunners, before the France international departed Paris Saint-Germain to link up with Liverpool in a deal worth £123million.

Juventus star Kenan Yildiz was named on the list, alongside Yan Diomande, who departed RB Leipzig to join Real Madrid in a blockbuster £120million deal.

Elliot Anderson was also reportedly a target for Arsenal during the summer, with the midfielder ultimately departing Nottingham Forest to sign for Manchester City in a deal valued at £116million.

Sandro Tonali was similarly said to have been on Arsenal's radar before he went on to complete a £100million move to Tottenham Hotspur from Newcastle United.

Vinicius Jr and Julian Alvarez were also both cited as potential Arsenal targets over the summer, though the pair ultimately stayed put at Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, respectively.

Eli Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth), Joao Pedro (Chelsea), Alex Scott (Bournemouth), Amadou Onana (Aston Villa), Jeremy Monga (Leicester City to Man City), Louis Page (Leicester City), Cristian Romero (Tottenham to Atletico Madrid) and Micky van de Ven (Tottenham) were amongst the England-based players reportedly wanted by Arsenal.

Nico Paz (Como), Malick Fofana (Lyon to Sunderland), Ivan Fresneda (Sporting Lisbon), Jacobo Ramon (Como) and Tarik Muharemovic (Sassuolo to Leeds) were the overseas-based players said to have featured on the Gunners' transfer shortlist.

Arsenal's next chance to bolster their squad will arrive on New Year's Day, when the January transfer window swings open.
