Liverpool were name-dropped as one of the clubs interested in signing Michael Olise, prompting Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen to comment.
There were stories in the summer that Real Madrid and even Liverpool had made bids for Olise, but Dreesen has emphatically denied this.
He told Sport 1: “That simply wasn’t true. That’s why I said it publicly. It simply wasn’t true. We didn’t have any offer on the table. And we’ve always said we weren’t interested.
“That’s exactly our position. Olise is incredibly important for this team. He’s a magician on this pitch.”
When asked if he can promise that Olise will be a Bayern player beyond next summer, Dreesen replied: “Making promises in this business is a tricky matter. Whether we can keep him permanently is something we will discuss again in the summer.”

Bayern Munich want to offer Olise a new contract with a release clause amid Liverpool interest
Just this week, Bayern Munich insider Christian Falk reported that Liverpool’s interest in Olise has prompted the Bavarian club to plan a new deal for the French winger.
Falk reports that Bayern are considering putting a release clause into a new deal they are planning on offering Olise after Liverpool expressed interest in the French forward this summer.
The journalist wrote that Bayern could “make a major Olise contract change” after “Liverpool’s transfer interest” in the summer.
Reporting exclusively for CF Bayern Insider, Falk said: “There were times at Bayern Munich when they were very proud that there was no release clause attached to any contract. But last year, there were more than a few and it’s now the way of things in Munich.
“Jamal Musiala – who we hope is getting better soon – has a release clause in his contract. So this could be an idea for Michael Olise if he signs a new contract.
“However, I can say that any release clause that may be attached to the winger’s contract will be very, very high. If any club chooses to activate this, Bayern will have a lot of money on the table to put towards a successor.”
