Coventry City were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City on Saturday, with Frank Lampard's side still searching for their first points of the Premier League season

Frank Lampard has shed light on the stark contrast between facing Arsenal and Manchester City. Coventry City have been thrown in at the deep end in their return to the Premier League, facing fixtures against two of England's heavyweights before they had barely found their feet.
The Sky Blues were swept aside 3-0 by Arsenal on the first day of the new campaign, their first top-flight outing in almost 25 years, before slipping to a 1-0 home defeat to Hull. A third successive loss followed on Saturday as an Erling Haaland header settled matters at the Etihad Stadium.
Yet for all the disappointment of another blank on the scoresheet, there were encouraging signs from Lampard's side, who were left to rue a string of missed opportunities against City. The Coventry boss was keen to draw a distinction between Saturday's display and their chastening opener at the Emirates Stadium two weeks prior.
"We're not playing Manchester City every week," he told journalists following Saturday's defeat. "The Premier League is a high, high level and we'll play different versions of quality against us.

"What's more important to the players today is they take confidence out of the performance and we're disappointed to lose. But in reflection there will be a lot of good taken out of it if we can use it in our mentality."
He then drew comparisons with their Premier League curtain-raiser against Arsenal two weeks earlier. While Lampard's analysis focused primarily on his own side's development, it could equally provide a measure of the distinctions between those City and Arsenal.
"Going to Arsenal two weeks ago felt very different, it felt like our first game for 25 years in the Premier League," he added. "Today felt like a competitive Premier League team coming with a clear idea and a threat, so we must take that forward."

Coventry came close to breaking the deadlock on multiple occasions during Saturday's visit to the Etihad. Taiwo Awoniyi intercepted deep inside City's half before firing a shot narrowly wide of the upright, while a superb Gianluigi Donnarumma stop thwarted Jack Rudoni from close quarters.
Lampard's men enjoyed only 22.9 per cent possession against City but remained competitive and registered three efforts on target. They had greater control of the ball at Arsenal with 35.9 per cent but troubled Gunners goalkeeper David Raya on just one occasion.
The outcome was identical, though, as Coventry continue the search for their opening points of the campaign and remain rooted to the foot of the table. City maintain their position at the summit for the time being, although that could alter following Arsenal's clash with Chelsea on Sunday.
Both London clubs have maintained perfect records so far this season and have an opportunity to claim top spot with a favourable result at the Emirates Stadium. Lampard has not yet faced his former employers this term, with Coventry's fixture against Chelsea not scheduled until Boxing Day.
