The former Liverpool goalkeeper produced a huge performance as Schalke held the reigning Bundesliga champions to a goalless draw.
Loris Karius produced one of the standout performances of his career on Saturday evening as Schalke secured a remarkable point against Bayern Munich.

The newly promoted side were forced to spend long periods without the ball, with Bayern dominating proceedings and enjoying around 83% possession.
Vincent Kompany’s side registered 15 shots, including five on target, but could not find a way past the Schalke defence.
Karius proved the difference when Bayern did manage to create openings.
The 33-year-old completed the full 90 minutes and made five saves, including important interventions to deny Nathaniel Brown and Harry Kane.
FotMob awarded him an 8.0 rating for his display, while Get German Football News also named him their Man of the Match.
And his heroics have now brought an extraordinary Bayern record to an end.
The reigning Bundesliga champions had scored in 59 consecutive competitive matches, stretching all the way back to July 2025.
Their last failure to find the net came against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup quarter-final, when they were beaten 2-0 on July 5th.
That remarkable run finally ended in Gelsenkirchen, with Karius at the centre of it.
Bayern threw Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise into the game as substitutes, but even their introduction could not break Schalke’s resistance.
For Schalke, the result was their first point of the Bundesliga campaign and their first positive result against Bayern since 2017, ending a run of 12 consecutive defeats against the German giants.
For Karius, however, it was another significant chapter in his ongoing revival, and one that will be remembered for stopping one of European football’s most prolific attacks.
