**[Everton](https://readeverton.com/) twice came from behind to earn a dramatic 2-2 draw with Manchester United at the Hill Dickinson.**
Tyrique George scored a belter for his first Everton goal before Ainsley Maitland-Niles rescued a point with an even later one.
Two crackers. One point. But it felt like a win.
Here are our player ratings.
Couldn’t do much about Mbeumo’s excellent opener but will probably feel he could have done better with Sesko’s header after getting a hand to it. Otherwise not overly busy.
Another afternoon filling in at right-back and acquitted himself well. Competed, got forward when he could and didn’t look like a midfielder doing someone else’s job. Booked in the second half before making way.
Produced a superb last-ditch challenge on Cunha but was caught underneath the cross for United’s second. Some good defending either side of that.
Probably the pick of Everton’s defence. Defended well for much of the afternoon and bailed Garner out with an important block in the second half. Also threatened at the other end from a set-piece.
A difficult afternoon. Everton’s left was exposed for Mbeumo’s opener, and there were too many occasions when promising possession ended with the wrong ball.
Steady enough in midfield before the latest demonstration of Everton’s lack of numbers saw him moved to right-back when Rohl departed. Almost immediately went down and had to come off himself.
Booked after 13 minutes but didn’t disappear. Plenty of running and bite against a good United midfield. Not at his most influential afternoon but another useful 90 minutes.
Worked hard without really getting into the game. Did see one second-half effort deflected wide before Grealish replaced him.
Kept trying to make things happen even when Everton were struggling for inspiration. A couple of tame efforts, but some nice passes too and he was still driving the Blues forward at the death.
Everton’s biggest threat. Had already produced some promising moments before Hackney found him on the right with seven minutes remaining.
What followed was ridiculous. He took aim from a tight angle and absolutely leathered it into the roof of the net.
His first Everton goal. There are worse ways to score your first.
A tough shift against Maguire and Martínez. Never really had the sort of chance centre-forwards dream of, but kept working and occupied the United centre-backs.
Made a difference after replacing Johnson. Everton had a little more composure with him involved, and he carried the ball at United whenever the opportunity came. Teed up Hackney for one late chance too.
Another who made a difference. Drove forward and found George for the first equaliser, although he should have done better when Grealish presented him with a late opening.
No explanation needed.
Thrown on when Garner went down and, six minutes into added time, the ball eventually dropped to him around 30 yards from goal.
**Bang. Top corner. 2-2.**
Not on long enough to take star man from George.
But nobody leaving the Hill Dickinson will forget his Everton debut in a hurry.
